Actor Robert Redford Discusses Solar Affordability in Time Magazine
Actor, director and environmental advocate Robert Redford has been engaged on the issue of climate change for over 40 years and has been a long-time proponent of solar power.
He recently wrote a wonderful article in Time urging regulators, consumer advocates and policymakers to work together to achieve a compromise that will allow solar companies to coexist with utilities, rather than compete with them. “We can’t afford to repeat the mistakes of the past and punish citizens who simply want to save money and help the environment at the same time.”
Redford once told Huffington Post that he was too early in his early effort to promote solar in the states:
“I was too early in my efforts to promote solar power, but now is the time. We are getting a second chance–another American trait. If we don’t seize this moment, we will be too late to get the competitive advantage in a global marketplace, too late for the economic dividends, and too late to stave off the worst of global warming.”
